In “Crit Wall”,  I offer online critiques of individual art pieces in my journal.  I’ll write a comprehensive critique for each work.

To submit, send me a link to one image by sending a note to me. [link]   Please include the media, size, and title if you have one.  Only submit original, finished works, no works in progress or sketches. Artwork created for a RISD degree program course is not eligible.

You’ll receive notification if your piece is selected to be critiqued. Only one submission per person please, and know that I will not be able to critique every single work due to the volume of submissions. All images will be posted anonymously.

Overview :

#RealismClub is announcing the launch of the Self-Portrait Competition.

What to do ? :

Entrants must submit a self-portrait, but this concept is open to an interpretation that goes beyond passport-photo conventionality. Shown alone or within a group, contextualised, abstracted, trailing narrative or defined by the surface of the
image, like all self-portraits, these new additions to the genre will explore the idea of visual identity, revealing and designing it at the same time.

Please take the time to familiarise yourself with these rules to avoid any confusion.

Only members of #RealismClub can participate.

Artists of amateur and professional status, from anywhere in the world, are eligible to participate in the competition by submitting a digital image of their self-portrait.

The work can be in any recognised traditional medium including drawing, painting, watercolour, print and mixed media. Photographs, sculpture and film are not eligible.

Each artist is allowed one entry.

Your entry can be an old or new piece of work.

Voting :

All entries will be considered by the members of #RealismClub (made up of artists and critics) and applicants will be notified via our blog whether their work has been selected.
