SUBMISSIONS

We ask that you respect these submission rules to avoid wasting time for re-submitting and occupying the amdins.

We as a group focus on realism as a whole subject matter. This means that the art you'll find in this gallery is a portryal of real life.

What to submit :

-->Traditional art
-->Digital paintings or drawings
-->Sculpture

What not to submit :

-->Photography
-->Photomanipulations
-->Literature
-->Anything that doesn't have realism as a theme. This includes fantasy, science fiction and anything else that you can't see in real life.



Dont's

- please do not submit to the featured folder
- please do not submit work in progress
- please do not submit image mixed with text. Illustration is not an area this group explores.
- please do not submit imagery of fictional characters which are digitally created. (does not include characters which are normally played out by actors)
- please do not submit reproductions of other artist's works.
- please do not submit things that cannot hypotetically be seen in real life. This includes fantasy, surrealism, transhumanism and fiction.

Please notice that we do not implement any quality standards, and your art doesn't at all have to look like a photo in order to be suitable for the club! However, please submit only your best works.

The Art of Realism


A few of you love muffins requested tutorials that would help explain the process of drawing/painting in realism. I've included a  few tutorials and websites which are good starting points.  The rest lies in your hands. If any of you have access to an art community, college or university in your area, try to attent life drawing classes.

Where do I start ?


Practice makes you perfect. I remember when I first spoke to my tutor about wanting to able to paint and draw in a photorealistic style. He told me to get a book and sketch 5 drawings a day for one year. As I was drawing every day, I also attended life drawing classes, which also heavily impacted my drawing skills. I was fortunate enough to have a good tutor who knew himself what was essential to obtaining any kind of skill : knowlegde and practice.

My final advice to you is to keep practicing and educate yourself at the same time.  Eventually, you will see that the two are equally important.
